Fiserv (PolCard)
PolCard from Fiserv provides an extensive suite of payment and technology services customized for small businesses among others
Introduction
Fiserv PolCard is a core payment processing and merchant acquiring solution used within our infrastructure. It is one of the largest and most established electronic payment providers in Poland.
International Availability
Fiserv operates in other countries, but the integration with Bookassist has been run by the Polish Fiserv department.
If your hotel is outside Poland and you want to use Fiserv, please contact the Fiserv offices to set up and configure the service.
Supported Languages
Fiserv/Polcard integration currently supports the following languages:

Supported Currencies
Fiserv/Polcard & Bookassist integration currently supports hotels with Polish Zloty (PLN) as base currency only. But if you would like to connect your hotel outside Poland, just contact us and we will be happy to assist.
Supported Payment Methods
- Major Credit and Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, and China UnionPay.
- Digital Wallets: Blik , GooglePay and ApplePay.

⚠️ In principle, most of the available payment methods should be compatible with the integration. However, exceptions may apply. Should you wish to enable any, we strongly advise conducting a test reservation beforehand to confirm that it functions as expected before making it available to guests. ⚠️
NOT Supported:
- Bank transfers
- BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later)
Pricing
Bookassist
Bookassist charges a Service Fee of €250 plus VAT annually due in advance for each connection to a third-party service. This fee is necessary to cover certification costs with the PSP, development and implementation costs, server and hosting costs including server bandwidth for traffic, ongoing service upgrades, security standards implementation including PCI level 1 certification, ongoing security testing ensuring data integrity, monitoring systems, ongoing quality assurance, and GDPR compliance.
Fiserv/PolCard
Fiserv/Polcard’'s pricing structure isn't publicly available and likely varies based on several factors, including the specific services used, transaction volume, and individual merchant agreements. To get accurate information about their commission rates, you should contact Fiserv directly.
Capabilities with Bookassist
We've implemented a basic integration with Fiserv/Polcard that focuses on the most essential payment processing needs for hotel bookings for:
- Full and partial prepayment processing (credit/debit cards)
- Zero-value pre-authorisation for guarantee-only bookings (credit cards only)*
- Mandatory 3D Secure authentication (EU PCI compliance)
*When zero-value pre-authorisation is required for guarantees, payment is restricted to credit cards. Although Fiserv's hosted payment page may display alternative payment methods, only credit card transactions will succeed. This is a limitation of using a redirection solution.
Other capabilities NOT included:
- Card Tokenisation Services: The integration doesn't include card tokenisation capabilities for storing guest payment information for future use. While Fiserv supports tokenisation for future actions (e.g. refunds or no-show charges), this functionality has not been integrated into the Bookassist Extranet system.
- View Card Details in Extranet: We do not display the "View CC" option in the Bookassist Extranet, even for zero-deposit bookings processed via Fiserv. You must consult the Fiserv dashboard for any card information.
- Card Data Sharing: We do not send card information to Channel Managers or PMS systems. You must consult the Fiserv dashboard for any card information.
- Direct Refunds via Bookassist: Refunds for prepaid bookings must be processed via the Fiserv dashboard.
- Additional Charges (no-show) via Bookassist: Any additional charges such as no-show charges must be processed via the Fiserv dashboard.
- Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC): Guests always pay in the hotel's configured currency (PLN).
Setup Help Guide
We've streamlined the setup process to make it as straightforward as possible:
Step 1: Fiserv (PolCard) Account Registration
To begin your payment processing journey, you'll need to establish a direct relationship with Fiserv (PolCard). Simply contact their team directly to register for your merchant account. Their experienced onboarding specialists will guide you through the account setup process and ensure all necessary documentation is completed efficiently.
Once done, please inform Bookassist so that we can start the process.
Step 2: Supplemental Agreement Request
The Bookassist Administration Department will send you a Supplemental Agreement to be signed, which is required to complete the Merchant Account setup within the Bookassist system.
Step 3: Sharing Your Account Credentials
Once your fiserv (PolCard) account is active and the Supplemental Agreement has been signed and approved by the Administration Department, you'll need to provide Bookassist Support with two essential pieces of information from your account:
- Publishable Key (also referred to as your Merchant ID)
- Secret Key (your secure authentication credential)
Example:
- Publishable Key or Merchant ID: Payment_1234567
- Secret Key: 8JYBZ4rgSB3a51S9BO8463X9IIOxdfLST
⚠️ Never share keys via unencrypted channels. Always share them securely via encrypted email or directly by telephone. ⚠️
You can locate these credentials within your Fiserv account information page or you can always contact them. Our team will use these securely to configure the integration on your behalf, ensuring a smooth connection between your booking engine and the payment processing system.
Step 4: Test Reservation
Once the Merchant Account set-up is completed, the Support Team will do a real test booking for the following reservation types:
- Full prepayment booking
- Partial prepayment booking (only if the hotel uses this option)
- Zero-value pre-authorisation for guarantee-only bookings (Flexible Rates)
Support Team will contact you to inform about the test to be done.
Step 5: Final Confirmation
Once all tests are done and passed correctly, the Support Team will inform you that Fiserv (PolCard) has been configured and live.
👉 In addition to the internal booking tests, we suggest hotels to create a quick test reservation to ensure that the entire end-to-end connection has been enabled correctly on their side.
Any doubts? Contact us and we will be happy to assist.
